A few of my favorite things… (February Edition)
Hi! It’s been a minute since I shared a few of my favorite things.
Every once in a while, I come across something that brings me so much joy that I just have to share it with the people I love. So, since you are a part of my inner circle 😉 I wanted to share a few things I have been using and loving in my personal life in hopes that it will elevate yours as well!
Here is what I’ve been excited about this season:
A little piece of my sensitive earth-loving soul would cringe every time I’d put a plastic trash bag in the kitchen trash can. A few months ago HoldOn Bags waltzed onto my radar. I was tentative at first, buying just a few as a test. Would they rip? Would we have soggy drippy trash juice all over the place? Would my husband kill me for introducing another eco-friendly swap to our house?
Welp, the results are in, my friend, and they passed ALL the tests. Oh! The joy I experience watching these green bags being tossed into the trash truck each week, knowing it will break down faster than all the others. I never expected myself to get so jazzed about trash…but here we are. 😂
Back in November, Zach’s dad passed away. 💔 It was tragic, very traumatic, and a lot sooner than anyone was expecting or prepared for. Because of the work I do, I knew that Zach, myself, and our family would need support moving through our grief. I wasn’t willing to do it alone.
I knew I needed someone, something, to hold the space for me. And for Zach. I was ready and fully committed to being the student (again) of my own growth and process. #imalearnerforlife
Since then, Zach and I have been working through this difficult time, both individually and collectively, thanks to a recommendation I received from one of my clients (if you are reading this, THANK YOU again. I am so, so grateful.).
When she said to me, “this work was life-changing and so in alignment with the work we do here at Escape From Emotional Eating,” her recommendation rose to the top of my list. While we are still very much in the thick of it, I have been paying it forward and telling everyone I know about this work.
I do feel called to share more about my grief journey since grief is inevitable, and we need to talk more about it. Plus, there are so many parallels and intersections to the work I do with my clients. But I want to make sure I am in tune with myself and do so when ready, so stay tuned.
Until then, I highly recommend this.
I hope you find something fun or inspiring in these resources that support your body, mind, and soul in being of full service to you, your calling, and your purpose. Remember, if you want to thrive in this world, using food to cope will only get in your way.
I’d love to hear what you’re currently loving too… got a new recipe, book, or gizmo that brings joy to your life? I’d love to hear about it! Just hit “reply” and let me know!
In service to your freedom,
