My Silent Suffering

Continuing with our topic of overeating and fullness from last week, I wanted to share a personal story with you…

When I was silently suffering from overeating I would sign myself up for programs that taught portion control. I was tracking, measuring and counting everything I ate.

But it only made my fight with food exponentially worse.

I’d open my eyes in the morning and already be thinking about what’s for dinner. I’d count down the hours, even minutes, between meals secretly longing for my next bite.

Thoughts of food consumed my mind as hunger pangs consumed my body.

I thought portion control would
help me win my fight with food.

But it only made me what to crawl out
of my skin even more.
