The secret to trusting yourself around food
I’m going to let you in on a little secret.
Before every overeating episode…
Before you even find yourself rooting through the pantry…
Before the food is even in your hands…
There is a moment when you choose to abandon yourself.
This can be a hard truth to swallow…but hear me out because knowing this and applying it will start to change your relationship with food!
For most people, especially if we haven’t started working together, this choice to abandon yourself is unconscious.
For some, abandoning yourself has been the only way to survive.
However, once our work together begins, you’re able to see where you abandon yourself and how it eventually leads to overeating or eating things you know you shouldn’t.
Those moments when you say to yourself, “I can’t handle this!”…
Or you feel like you want to run away or escape…
Or you’re so tired, you need a break, but you keep going going going (end up snacking even though you aren’t really hungry)…
➡️ these are just a few examples of that “moment of disconnect” in the emotional eating cycle.
In our work together, I’m here to help you in learning how to:
🌟(1) come back to yourself after you’ve lost yourself
🌟(2) be able to manage the chaos going on inside or outside of you, so you no longer need to escape.
Because in order to truly have a healthy relationship with food, one that is in alignment with you, we must heal the places where you “go missing.”
No doubt, this Holiday Season will bring many opportunities where you feel the urge to disconnect, disassociate, and numb… and use food to do so.
However, as your coach, my high recommendation is that you start to open your eyes.
Now that you know this little secret… before every overeating episode, there will be a point you consciously or unconsciously choose to disconnect from yourself…
Look for it.
It is a golden ticket on your path to deep healing.
In service to your freedom,
