Table-Plate-Chair

I used to eat standing in my kitchen while no one was watching.

When I finally committed to healing my relationship with food, learning to eat fully present with my food was a part of the process. But, boy was it difficult for me.

So I started using the mantra “table-plate-chair” to get me to grab these ingredients to eat.

Over time I was able to build the internal mental muscles to be present with my food. Fast forward to today where I’m fully free from my emotional eating.

So the next time you catch yourself eating standing in the kitchen while no one is watching, try the mantra.

And remember, most of all, healing your emotional eating is a J O U R N E Y.

Hi!

I just got back from leading our Fall ESCAPE and I wanted to share with you a behind the scenes peak of one of my favorite things to teach on our retreats – LUNCH!

Lunch on the ESCAPE is a sacred experience that I’ve specifically designed to clear out compulsion, untangle your physical hunger from emotional hunger so you are clear on how to nourish yourself, and re-connect you to knowing when you’re physically satiated. 

But simply knowing when you’re full isn’t enough, you gotta practice it!

Which is why I love our ESCAPE lunches together so much because I’ve already cleared out the distractions and excuses that you keep bumping up against at home. Our lunch together is the perfect place to practice peace with food!

And let’s not forget the following secret ingredients only available at the ESCAPE to really up the healing ante: compassion, community, support and (my favorite) SILENCE.

Yep, every lunch on our ESCAPE retreat is experienced in complete silence.

Hello from the serene beaches of Cape May!

I’m getting ready to lead our 3-day transformational retreat, called The ESCAPE — it starts tomorrow, I can’t wait!

We’ll be focusing on the healing the roots of emotional eating and transforming the energies of stress, anxiety and overwhelm. It’s why most numb with food.

And I’m SO proud of the Escapees I’m serving in-person this week and their willingness to do whatever it takes to be here.

Because when we come together in-person in a sacred space that is created for increased compassion, understanding and transformation, we can finally heal your relationship with food.

I have seen this happen year after year in those who attend our retreats.

People who swore that they’d always need to lock up naughty foods are suddenly able to eat one of something — one bowl, one piece, one bite.

People who have never been able to stop thinking about food, suddenly find their mind peaceful and quiet…they’re fully present.

I’ve been thinking about you because I’ve been talking to a lot of people who want to heal their emotional eating and they keep bumping up this big fear: “This just isn’t going to work for me.”
