I have to tell you something and it feels scary

July 11, 2017

Hi,

Pretend it’s just you and me, sitting in my kitchen sharing a cup of tea. I take a deep breath because what I’m about to share with you feels so vulnerable. Then I courageously confess…

I’ve secretly battled with adult cystic acne for years…the kind where it feels like volcanos are violently erupting underneath your skin.  There were some days I was in so much pain that, I swear, it felt like I was growing a third arm out of my chin.

I wanted to crawl out of my own skin.

I desperately sought out surface approaches for relief: getting facials regularly and buying hundreds of dollars’ worth of new face products.

But nothing was making a difference.

My acne was painful and getting worse.

At my wit’s end, I turned to the same tools that I teach my clients.

As I poured my feelings on the pages of my journal, I realized, just like with emotional eating, that my acne was simply a symptom of a deeper problem.

What we see on the physical level, like acne or excess weight, is a mirror for what is going on in our internal world.

Willing to look within, I saw layers of anger, rage and extreme self-loathing that I had stuffed down, suppressed. Now it was painfully erupting out of every pore in my face.

I committed myself to an “emotional detox” using the same powerful process that healed my emotional eating called Digesting EmotionsTM  to help me easily and peacefully release the thoughts and feelings that were no longer serving me.

Two weeks later my skin was completely clear!

I’m still shocked that the very same way I healed my emotional eating helped me clear my skin. But it also makes sense because our bodies are merely a screen onto which we project the nature of our thoughts.

Digesting EmotionsTM helped me surrender psychological sludge and remove emotional sewage. The healing of my skin was simply a reflection of that removal.

Now it’s your turn… are you secretly using food to escape the feelings you don’t want to feel?

Then I invite you to apply for an Escape From Emotional EatingTM Discovery Session and receive this powerful and deeply transformational support around your relationship with food.

This is complimentary, my gift to you.

Click here to apply for a session right now.

See you on the other side!

With all my heart,

My emotions were dangerous

June 27, 2017

Hi,

At a very young age, I learned my emotions were dangerous. Whenever I showed any signs of emotion, I was often attacked, ridiculed and laughed at…people would stare, eyes would roll, and they’d scream, “why are you crying?!!”

As a smart little girl, I suppressed my feelings, burying them deep inside my body, hiding them from everyone including myself. Then I’d eat.

Food was an easy escape – from myself, from my dangerous feelings, and from this overwhelming world.

As I got older, my dependence on food to ease the burden I felt got bigger. Until I gained 40 pounds in just a few months.

I hit my rock bottom. I had numbed myself so much that I felt like a shell of a human being, completely dead inside.

When I discovered that I had to face and feel my feelings to escape my emotional eating, it felt so overwhelming and impossible… even dangerous! It sounds silly, but I really felt that if I opened my Pandora’s box of emotions, I would NOT make it out alive.

So I created a process called Digesting EmotionsTM as a way to help me process and release my feelings rather than numbing them with food. Now it’s what I teach my clients.

When I used this powerful process and tool, I was shocked at how instantly I went from feeling scattered, foggy and anxious to calm, clear and grounded. My emotions no longer felt like a dangerous threat to me. Instead they became my teacher, each holding a pearl of wisdom for my growth and healing.

From there, food naturally shifted to become fuel, a nourishing asset for my body and my life.

Now it’s your turn. If you’re using food to escape from yourself, your feelings and this overwhelming world, then I invite you to connect for an Escape From Emotional Eating Discovery Session.

In this powerful private session, I’ll hold safe, sacred space for you to share your challenges with emotional eating. I’ll listen intimately and help you connect the dots to why you aren’t free from the chaos with food just yet. We’ll also have the opportunity to explore whether the deep transformational work I do is a best next step for you.

Simply fill out this application right now, and if it makes sense for us to connect further, we’ll schedule a time to connect, discover and start healing your relationship with food and yourself.

As your guide, I wouldn’t ask you to do anything I haven’t already done myself. Because of that, I know you can do this.

My door is open. Let’s take the first step together.

With all my heart,

I felt powerless

June 13, 2017

STOP & think for a moment: How do you know when you’re full?

For a long time, knowing when I was full and how to stop eating was confusing. I couldn’t figure it out and I felt powerless.

At times I would eat so fast I swore someone had swooped in while I wasn’t looking and stole the food right off my plate. I had no recollection of eating it.

Eating fast always led me to overeat.

Other times I would start to feel full but an overwhelming crazy voice would push me to eat more. It told me, “This is so yummy! Don’t stop! Just 1 more bite!” It was so convincing.

This always led me to overeat too.

I desperately tried diets with planned portions as a way to control myself with food, but I could never sustain them. They only made that overwhelming crazy voice LOUDER and more convincing.

And so, I overate. And felt insane.

Shifting these patterns took a willingness to ditch the diets and try a radically different approach, one that I now teach my clients. With practice, I was rewarded with a sense of peace, trust and self-love that is solid and sustainable.

Now, I have a strong, clear, confident relationship with my fullness and food. It’s always with me and guiding me at every meal, whether I’m at home eating by myself or out to dinner with friends.

I haven’t overeaten or felt insane around food in over 4 years.

If I can shift this, so can you.

Submit your application for an Escape From Emotional Eating Discovery Session right now and I’ll teach you.

This is a powerful private 45-minute connection where I’ll listen intimately to your challenges with overeating. We’ll uncover the real reason you aren’t free from emotional eating yet and get clear on your best next steps together. We’ll also have the opportunity to explore whether the deep and unique work that I do is a fit for you.

Submit your application now and let’s set you free from this self-destructive cycle with food.

With all my heart,

PS. I have seen clients make incredible changes and finally stop eating when they are full just from attending one of the two very powerful in-person retreat experiences that I offer every year, called the ESCAPE.

Because it’s not just about a diet. It’s really about how you’re using food to escape from yourself, your emotions and your life. Submit your application for a Discovery Session now and take the first step to healing your relationship with food. Xoxo

Why intuitive eating sucks (and what to do instead!)

May 16, 2017

Couldn’t you just punch the next person that says “just listen to your body”…as if overcoming overeating was that easy. 😖

In the past, when I would “listen” to my body it would say, “Eat more. Eat MORE. MORE! MORE! MORE!”

This overwhelming voice was always in my head.

I was ALWAYS thinking about food.

I was out of control.

So I created a process called Digesting EmotionsTM.

As I used this process, the voice became quieter and eventually stopped.

My mind cleared.

I was in control.

That’s when I realized that the voice that made me feel out of control was my mind. NOT my body!

I finally realized why intuitive eating and listening to your body are so difficult for emotional eaters, because we have to do things differently to heal our emotional eating.

You must manage your mind so you can hear your body. It’s where your intuition lives.

Digesting EmotionsTM is the way I freed myself from the voice rather than numbing it with food. Now this is what I teach my clients.

So if you fall victim to your mind, where it says “MORE! MORE!” on repeat, and you want to break free, I invite you to connect for an Escape From Emotional Eating Discovery Session.

In this powerful private conversation, I’ll listen intimately to what your challenges are with food and together we’ll get to the root of why you aren’t 100% free from emotional eating yet. We’ll also have the opportunity to explore if one of the Escape From Emotional Eating programs is the right next step for you.

You will find that this Discovery Session is very powerful and sacred as is all the work that I do.

Here’s what you need to do to receive one of these powerful private conversations:

Between now and when I connect with you for this powerful conversation, sending you so much love!

With all my heart,

Meet Karen!

May 2, 2017

Meet Karen! I have this sense you two have a lot in common.

She works long hard hours, sometimes up at 5am, and is exhausted by the end of the day.

When she and I started working together last year she’d lose control with food in the evening, unable to resist the pull of sweets like brownies, cookies and cake.

She knew better.
She knew sugar wasn’t good for her.
She knew she shouldn’t eat it.
She is a health coach.

But, something inside of her always took over and she’d lose control.

Until one day, she experienced a massive shift.

Standing in line at Starbucks for her daily mid-afternoon coffee and snack break, she said to herself, “I’m not hungry. I’m tired.”

She graciously excused herself from line, took a seat an oversized leather chair and let herself close her eyes.

For emotional eaters, physical hunger and emotional hunger are tangled together. A complete mess of crossed wires in your brain that makes you feel hungry all the time. Or, even worse, no clue what hunger even is.

Which is everything  Digesting EmotionsTM is about: untangling these crossed wires and breaking free from the mess of thoughts and feelings that cause chaos and confusion with food.

In one of our most recent sessions Karen said, “Thanks to Digesting EmotionsTM I can finally understand what I’m truly hungry for…REST!”

Next week, I’ll be gathering with 14 amazing, powerful women for our Spring Escape From Emotional EatingTM retreat, called The Escape. I can’t wait to share the juice, the shifts and the transformational stories that happen when we gather together and break free from food.

I invite you to follow our journey on Instagram so you can feel like you are with us. Here’s what you need to do:

1). Go to: https://www.instagram.com/jessprocini/

2). Click the blue FOLLOW button at the top of the page.

We all will be sending you love from The Escape.

See you on Instagram!

With all my heart,

PS., if you felt a shift by reading this, please share this link http://bit.ly/FREEmeNow with a friend or family member who you know could really receive support from what you just read as well.

Thank you for helping to create this healing ripple effect.

1 dead… Let’s not make it 2.

April 18, 2017

Hi! I woke up this morning with an answer to prayer that I needed to share this story with you. My sense is there’s something you’re meant to receive here.

One of my clients just lost her mother.

While they hadn’t had a relationship in the past 20 years, this kind of loss was far from sunshine, rainbows and unicorns.

We connected for a session a week after her death and she shared with me that she was suffering from severe digestive issues where she couldn’t be farther than 10 feet from a bathroom. For days on end.

Instantly and intuitively I knew that this wasn’t purely a physical issue. Nothing ever is. There is always a mental and emotional connection to the physical symptoms of the body.

When I asked her how she was doing with processing her emotions around her mother’s death, she said she hadn’t. So in that session I walked her through a process I teach called Digesting EmotionsTM.

In just a matter of minutes of doing this powerful work she said, “I can feel my stomach relaxing. It was tied in knots before. Now it isn’t.”

After our session, her physical symptoms continued to clear because the emotions had been cleared. She was no longer carrying the burden of the loss of her mother physically or emotionally; her gut healed with resilience and her mind, heart and soul cleared like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

As women, were never taught how to process our feelings. Especially intense ones. So we ignore them, hide them, or put food on top of them as a way to escape.

And as a result, you develop physical symptoms like digestive issues and excess weight.

I created Digesting EmotionsTM because I know and believe that in the same way we physically have to go to the bathroom to have a healthy body, we must have a way to emotionally “go to the bathroom” to have a healthy body, mind and soul.

This is everything I teach in my private transformational programs and we’ll be diving into this in our upcoming retreat, called The Escape, in just a few weeks.

So if you’re exhausted from carrying your emotional burdens, I invite you to an Escape From Emotional Eating Discovery Session. Submit your application here and let’s connect. We have some important work to do to release these trapped emotions.

With all my heart,

When things get hard and messy

April 4, 2017

Hi!

Last week, I had the privilege of watching the comedic rockstar Kevin Hart work on new material in an intimate venue in Philadelphia and the next morning all I could think about was how this could help you on your journey to end your emotional eating.

I was shocked that a guy who’s sold out Madison Square Garden, done multiple movies, and made hundreds of millions of dollars, was STILL humbly committed to bringing laughter out into the world and working on his craft.

Which got me thinking about you and me and food…

I know there have been so many times when I’ve wanted to abandon my own process of transformation…Especially when things get hard or messy…and most certainly when I put in so much effort and STILL don’t get the results I expected or wanted.

That’s when I want to run. Escape. Move to the Bahamas and collect seashells all day every day.

But that would be like Kevin Hart going to collect seashells for the rest of his life once he sold out Madison Square Garden.

Instead, he’s writing new material. He’s still on his journey to being the best he can be. Most importantly he’s staying with it.

Now I’ve been working on my relationship with food for over a decade and I’m always, ALWAYS, learning something new about myself and working on overcoming new challenges. Just like Kevin Hart working on his new material and attaining a new level of humor.

While I’ve reached many goals and milestones on my journey, such as ending emotional eating, I’m currently working on my relationship to alcohol and the ways I use it to soothe, cope and escape, just like I did with food. It’s my next level.

It’s been a messy and challenging process for me. But it’s also been extremely rewarding as I’m learning how to stand for myself on a deeper level in spite of what others may do or say and I’m experiencing a deeper place of peace, calm and true self-love. That’s why I continue to choose to stay with it.

So when it comes to your relationship with food, the process is the goal, regardless of where you are in your journey.

Because you take yourself everywhere you go. And your relationship with food and your health follow you everywhere too.

Putting food back as fuel is a journey. A process. It has many levels. And with that comes new “material”, new challenges and new demons.

Feeling stuck in your journey to fully healing your relationship with food? Then let’s connect.

Submit your application for an Escape From Emotional Eating Discovery Session, and we’ll use this complimentary time together to explore why you aren’t free from your demons with food yet and your best next steps together — my gift to you.

Supporting you every step of the way,
