Personally reaching out again 🙂 …how you are doing during this emotionally intense time? I know you are used to having to keep it all together all the time…but really, how are you feeling? 

I know I have felt big waves of grief and rage from injustice. Beauty and power from activism. And felt deeply unsafe from the violence and looting in my neighborhood.

Having healed my emotional eating, I now to have a very fast emotional metabolism. I can name, process and move through emotions (especially big ones) very quickly thanks to the tools I created and teach like the Fear Flush®and Digesting Emotions®. In the past, it would take me years. Literally. 

With COVID and everything that is transpiring, I’ll be the first to admit, it’s been a lot.

Which has me thinking about you…

How is your emotional metabolism?

Are you feeling heavy and weighed down, even numb, from it all?

As your coach I’ll remind you that food compulsion is made up of unprocessed feelings. When you emotionally eat, you seek to change or contain the swirl of emotions within you.

I’ve gotten clear that as emotional eaters, feeling our feelings isn’t enough. We must learn how to digest them in the same way we digest food. Keeping what’s nourishing, (what I call the wisdom of our emotions), and releasing what isn’t. 

As emotional eaters, we must have a release and relief when it comes to our emotions. 

Otherwise, we eat! When you eat your feelings, on a subconscious level you’re saying, â€śI can’t process this anger, perhaps I can eat it” or â€śI can’t process that I don’t feel safe, perhaps I can eat it”

In absence of a healthy way to process and release emotions, the energy becomes trapped within your body and embedded in your flesh.

So if you’ve been feeling heavy, that makes sense! All that energy has no where to go! 

Which is why I created the tools like Digesting Emotions and The Fear Flush. Because I had never been taught healthy doable ways to manage and move through difficult thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Now, it’s my mission to teach and empower other high-achieving change making women how to process, release and transform the energy and emotions that swirl within them.

food deadened my soul

Hey! I still vividly remember how food deadened my soul just enough so I couldn’t think too hard about anything else but food, my body and sleep.

Food cast a spell over me so I didn’t really have to face anything.

It made feelings go away. Back then, I was dead inside. A shell of a human being.

And that was a good thing.

Until I realized how not good it really was.

I always had an inner calling to give, be and do more in this lifetime.

It was becoming very clear that being stupefied by food was holding me back. Big time.

Every time I emotionally ate I was extinguishing myself.

Drowning my power.
Silencing my voice.
Killing my life force.

I didn’t want to be dead inside anymore.

I wanted to be fully alive.

Hi! Just wanted to personally reach out… How are you doing? 

I know there’s a lot of messages out there that harp “stay strong” and “we’re in this together” but Monday, I stayed in bed all day and cried. 

And Tuesday was pretty much the same. 

I wanted to share this with you because as women, we’ve been taught that crying is wrong, feeling our feelings is wrong, that we’re wrong…for being anything but happy.

So we’ve learned to suck it up, and shove it down with food. 

But the truth is that ALL feelings are for feeling. 

It’s ok to cry. 
It’s ok to feel the quicksand of grief. 
It’s ok to feel your white hot anger. 
It’s ok to want to punch the next person that says “we’re in this together”. 

However you are feeling is the right way to feel. 

Don’t shove it down. 
Don’t ignore it. 
Don’t put food on top of it. 

Don’t tell people “I’m fine. Nothing’s wrong.” when your heart aches. 

Because when you stop numbing yourself with food, you start feeling. It’s a part of becoming human again. 

It what being emotionally healthy looks like. 

What I can share from my personal experience, is that: 

(1) Your feelings, no matter how intense or messy they may be, will not kill you (even though it might feel like it). 

(2) When you truly own how you feel, you won’t want to emotionally eat. 

Because there’s nothing to hide. 

(3) Feelings are the magic of transformation. We must feel to heal. Healing is the “prize” that is ALWAYS waiting for us on the other-side of feeling. 

So if you’re swimming through grief, fear, anger and wanting to punch someone in the face, keep swimming

Feel it ALL. 

So ALL of it can be healed. Including you.
