One Reason You Can’t Put Your Fork Down (And What To Do Instead!)

October 14, 2014

This past weekend my older bro tied the knot! It was a fun-packed weekend bursting with celebration and once in a lifetime moments.

Me and my brother

Me and my brother!

Speaking of once in a lifetime moments…that brings me to today’s J-ciniTV topic!

This has been coming up a lot in my sessions with my clients and can strike pretty heavily when the festivities and holidays start to roll around.

It’s a major source of feeling uncontrolled around food and leads to eating when you’re already full and even when you know you should stop.

It’s like this fear compels you to keep eating.

Which has you leaving gatherings, celebrations and parties feeling guilty rather than filled full of love from your friends and family.

So let’s put a stop to this!

In this week’s episode of J-ciniTV, we tackle this important source of emotional eating so you can quit feeling out of control with food…especially around your friends and family!

A Healthy Way to Rebel

October 7, 2014

Does this ever happen to you?

Where you find yourself being really “good”… you’re following whatever eating regime you have for yourself… you’re getting your butt back to sweating regularly… and you’ve got your naughty food cravings under control…

Until “being good” sucks… where you’re like, “where’s all the fun?!”

And you find yourself eating when you’re not really hungry, having a couple too many bits of mac n cheese and one too many glasses of wine.

Once you’ve veered far enough off track, you renew your commitment to “being good” again and do well for a little while.

Until that feeling for fun and a little rebellion starts to creep back in… and it all begins again.

I see this as a common cycle for so many women and it can easily turn into a perpetual cycle of 2 steps forward, 1 step back.

This can get pretty frustrating when you realize if you could just figure out how to not take that step backward, you’d be smooth sailing and slipping into that little black dress in no time.

Fear not,  I’m here to help!

In this week’s episode of J-ciniTV, we get to the bottom of why this cycle starts and how to put an end to it, so your 2 steps forward are really just that – 2 steps forward.

Here’s how to eliminate that 1 step backwards:

If you feel like you’re stuck in this perpetual cycle of doing well for a little while and then falling off track, and you feel like healthy rebellion isn’t going to set you straight, I highly recommend you get some support and clarity around what’s standing in your way.

I’d love to support you with this and have just a few spots open in my calendar for women who are really committed to breaking this cycle for good.

You can nab some private time with me by filling out the application for a discovery session here.

From there, we’ll get clear on what you need to break this cycle for good so slimming down is no longer a painful perpetual cycle of ups and downs.

I’m here to support you!

Philly Area Peeps: You Gotta Be Here!

October 2, 2014

I know I don’t usually post this late in the week, but there’s this AHH-mazing event I’m planning with Whole Foods Market and I wanted to make sure you got first dibs on a seat for it.

Consider this your personal invite to the healthiest and most fun dinner party that’s ever graced your social calendar!

No more having to worry about waking up the next morning feeling bloated and guilty from eating foods that weren’t in alignment with your desires to slim down.

I’ve planned the entire menu from head to toe from my favorite Laugh Yourself Skinny (TM) recipes, that only my private clients have access to. Not only that, but there’s a method to my madness and I’ll be spilling my fun fat-blasting secrets the entire night.

PLUS, a special surprise at the end – so you’re gonna wanna make sure you stay for the whole thing!

This is one of those nights were it’s totally ok to skip the gym after work for your buns to be in one of these seats.

Word from Whole Foods Market is that this thing will sell out within just a few days. When they told me that, I knew how much you’d want to be there, so with not much twisting of their arm they gave me the OK to give you this personal invite first.

Won’t you come?

Don’t snooze on this one.

It would be such a blast to get to see, eat and laugh with you in person!

I can’t wait!

And grab a girlfriend to come with ya too!

See you then!
xoxo

The Worst Breakfast You Might Be Eating

September 30, 2014

Hi!

Sending you so much love on this fabulous fall Tuesday morning!

I know you’ve heard it before that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

And I have to agree that eating breakfast will also help you lose weight, which is why my Laugh Yourself Skinny (TM) program starts with focusing on breakfast.

Not only does b-fast fire up your metabolism but it also helps increase energy and your concentration. And you know when you have more energy and focus, it’s much easier to make healthy decisions (and keeps you from b*tchin’ out your colleagues before lunchtime).

However, you could be eating a healthy breakfast every morning and still struggle to lose your muffin top.

I know how frustrating that can be – to be putting energy, focus and action towards what you should be doing to lose weight, like eating breakfast, and not see results. ugh!

And the truth is, I see a lot of women make this HUGE mistake when it comes to WHAT they eat for breakfast.

I know because I was guilty of eating this terrible breakfast food when I was trying to drop a pant size… and I want to save you from making that same mistake!

In this episode of J-ciniTV, I spill the beans on what really is the worst breakfast when trying to slim and tone AND what you should be eating instead.

You won’t want to miss this one:

Thanks so much for tuning in this week!

Love, health & laughter,

– Jessica

Healthy Fast Food (an interview with Whole Foods Market Philadelphia)

September 23, 2014

Last week on J-ciniTV we dished out insider secrets on how to save money AND still eat healthy (and nowhere did we say you have to eat canned beans 3x a day to cut down on your grocery bill!). In case you missed it, you can catch it here.

And this week it’s all about how to save TIME!

One thing we ALL have in common is 24 hours. We all have 24 hours in a day. And as my coach consistently tells me, and I’ll pass this on to you…it’s what you do with those 24 hours that determines your success.

One thing I don’t do in those 24 hours is stand behind a sink or a stove and cook.

But that doesn’t mean I’m ordering Chinese takeout. Or waking up the next day feeling bloated, guilty and sluggish from eating food out that wasn’t good for me.

As I expressed last week, Laugh Yourself Skinny (TM) is not about sacrifice. It’s all about having both.

Both time to relax AND healthy food that’s right for you to eat.

Now you may be wondering how to go from all to nothing without cooking and without sabotaging your health.

And I want to be 100% honest with you; it’s going to be a gradual transition time saving process. Because thinking it’ll happen overnight will send you into overwhelm.

And the more time you spend in overwhelm or stress, the less time you have to relax (remember, we only have 24 hours).

The answers to start spending more time OUT of the kitchen are in today’s episode of J-ciniTV.

We go back to my neighborhood Whole Foods Market to get more insider secrets on how to make healthy fast food. Plus a few of my time saving tips too!

Watch this to no longer be a slave to your stove:

Know someone who could benefit from this info? Maybe it’s one person. Or maybe it’s a bunch. Please share it with them. You can share it publicly or privately. Whatever feels right for you.

And that goes for everything. Whatever feels right for you is the right thing.

From the depths of my heart, thank you so much for spending part of your 24 hours with me today.

Lots of love to you!

Love, health & laughter,

Jessica

Ways to save money on healthy food (an interview with Whole Foods Market Philadelphia)

September 16, 2014

I’m super excited about this very special 2-part J-ciniTV series I’ll be sharing with you! Starting today!

I’m confident it’ll start to destroy the 2 biggest roadblocks when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off (for good!). And those 2 are…

MONEY & TIME!

This week we’ll be focusing on the cold hard cash.

First, let me ask you…

Do you cringe when the cashier at the grocery store tells you your total?

Do you sacrifice healthier foods (like organic, free range, etc.) for conventional or packaged to save money?

Do you feel like you can’t give your body what she needs because eating healthy is expensive?

Then this week’s video is for you!

You see, the dieting mentality is rooted in sacrifice. In other words, you have to give up your favorite foods in order to lose 10 pounds. And you have to cut out your fav glass of wine to be able to button your pants.

Not fun, right?

Well, the Laugh Yourself Skinny (TM) mentality is rooted in “both and more” meaning you get to enjoy your favorite foods AND lose 10 pounds. And you can have your favorite glass of wine AND still slip effortlessly (with breathing room) in your clothes.

Now when it comes to dolla bills, you may think you need to shell out a ton of cash in order to eat the foods that are right for your body.

BUT, in this week’s episode, I’m proving there’s a Laugh Yourself Skinny (TM) way to this!

I invaded my local Whole Foods Market to help dish out these secrets, showing you how you CAN save moolah AND still eat delicious, whole organic foods from your health food store.

Check out these money saving insider secrets from Whole Foods, where I do most of my food shopping. (Some of these will shock you!)

Next week, in the second part of this series, we’ll tackle how to save time.

Know someone who could benefit from this info? Maybe it’s one person. Or maybe it’s a bunch. Please share it with them. You can share it publicly or privately. Whatever feels right for you.

And that goes for everything. Whatever feels right for you is the right thing.

From the depths of my heart, thank you so much for spending part of your day with me today.

Lots of love to you!

Love, health & laughter,

Jessica

How To Start Loving Yourself Today

September 9, 2014

Something crazy happened to me one morning and I just have to share this with you…

One morning, I opened my eyes (before my alarm) without even an ounce of anxiety, stress, worry, loathing, or hatred for myself and actually FELT an ooey gooey warm and fuzzy feeling of love.

And it wasn’t because I had an amazing night with Zach or extra cuddle time with CJ…

No.

The crazy thing was these warm and fuzzies were for ME!

At first, I was shocked.

Then, I was in awe.

And then, I got pissed.

I got pissed because I knew in my heart that there were women on this planet that would never know this feeling.

So I made a promise to myself, as I lay in bed in my PJs thinking about what I did to get to this feeling, that I was going to teach women to get to this place. To really FEEL this love when they roll outta bed. every. day.

Before I teach you how, I want to set something straight…

Most women think that self-love is the pot of gold at the end of the weight loss rainbow. And the truth is, that self-love actually must be a part of the process.

In other words, if you are “hating yourself skinny” you will get more of just that. Hate.

So how do you begin loving yourself if you don’t have the body you desire?

We begin with today’s episode of J-ciniTV where I literally give you these instructions (and a silly visual to make it all stick).

You’ll love this:

Is Your Inner Bitch Making You Fat?

September 2, 2014

If you’ve been hanging in my little Laugh Yourself Skinny world for quite some time, you know that I am not a fan of detoxes.

And if you’re new to me and this wacky sounding way of losing weight, WELCOME! I’m not a fan of detoxes.

But there is something every woman should get rid of Every. Single. Day.

In fact, I’ve been on this detox for almost a straight year and a half and I can’t rave about it enough.

Not only have I lost over 10 pounds in the past 6 months (one of the perks I get from my work), but I’m SO much happier.

In fact, when I got my haircut a few weeks ago my hairdresser was like “wow! You’ve lost so much weight.”

And the best part is you don’t have to give up any of your fav foods or become a hermit because you’re drinking juice for 3 days straight.

Sounds too good to be true?

Well, turn up your volume because I spill these awesome beans in today’s episode of J-ciniTV:

How Often Should I Eat?

August 26, 2014

Do you ever have an internal debate with yourself about when you should and shouldn’t be eating?

Like when you’re hungry between breakfast and lunch…should you really have a snack? Especially because the clock says lunch isn’t for another 2 HOURS!?

Most women, when trying to drop 10 pounds (or even more than that) will try their gosh-darn-hardest to cut back on how frequently they eat. And not feeling confident eating if the clock isn’t telling them it’s meal time.

When I was desperately trying to slim down, I loathed trying to figure out when I should be eating…it felt like I was in a constant battle with my hunger and the clock.

I would get so hungry between meal times that my stomach felt like it was eating itself and I would count the seconds on the clock when I have been should be focusing at work.

And when I did make it to a meal without cracking, I couldn’t help but stuff my face.

It wasn’t before long I said F-THIS and decided to do things differently.

And I’m super excited about sharing this method with you today!

It is the tip of the iceberg of what each woman who laughs herself skinny does. It’s what freed myself and so many other women from watching the clock, starving between meals and binging later on.

I have literally seen (myself included) women drop 10, 20, 30 pounds doing this.

And I will warn you, it’s going to sound TOO easy.

But this works:

Sipping, Glowing & All Things Juice With Kristin Lubsen!

August 19, 2014

A lot of people ask me what I eat, especially for breakfast.

For a few years I always had a green smoothie for breakfast. I loved how it replenished me after a good morning sweat and the greens I’d put in it were like natures coffee.

Then after a while, I started to discover my morning greenie was making me bloated.

So I cut it out and went months without it.

I missed my morning greens but longed for a way to be kind to my digestion.

As a replacement, I tried powders and pills but I’m not a fan of supplements and they just made me want to gag.

Then, one day when I was walking home from the gym I passed by a new little juice bar that opened up. I went in and had my first green juice.

It was yummy. My tummy liked it. And I even had a little pep in my step when I finished it.

Before that, I only thought of juice as something that was a part of a juice cleanse…of which I had horrific memories of starving, wanting to kill everyone in sight and being so low on energy I felt like I had the flu.

I started to make my morning juice a routine and started to notice how beautiful it made my skin, how energized I felt and how my body LOVED it.

I discovered there was this whole other world of juicing – how different ingredients could do different things for your body and how drinking it at different times of the day meant different benefits.

Now I consider myself a conservative when it comes to juicing, so I’m not here to tell you to drink 64 oz. of green juice a day. After all, I only drink about 12 oz.

But what I do want you to know is that juices can be a great option to add into your daily routine. And you don’t have to cleanse in order to reap the benefits of a good juice.

So in this week’s episode of J-ciniTV, I popped into my fav local juice spot, Sip-N-Glo, to give you the 4-1-1 on this crazy juicing world. We talk about how there’s more to juice than cleansing!

Get to know juice’s slim-tastic benefits here:
