Be Honest

November 16, 2020
Jessica Procini | Escape From Emotional Eating

Be honest… when you consider the possibility of receiving support to heal your emotional eating, do you feel (even slightly) embarrassed?

Have you said to yourself, “Why can’t I just figure this out on my own?!”

As your coach, I must point out this pattern that I see so many high-achieving women make, who are just like you, because it’s keeping you trapped in the emotional eating cycle.

It’s what I call: The Shame Of Receiving Support.

This shame gets amplified because you’re used to doing it all, all the time. You’re smart. You know a lot about food (heck, you may have a certification in nutrition or work in the health and wellness field) but can’t figure out how to just eat “normal.”

This shame, if it’s not transformed, turns into guilt, embarrassment, and then full-on-dead-stop resistance.

The good news is that this energy of shame can be transformed!

So many women tell me they feel this transformation the moment we connect for an Escape From Emotional Eating Discovery Session. They tell me, “it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.” They feel relief they don’t have to carry this burden anymore, and most of all, they don’t have to do this alone.

Receiving the right support increases your energy, intuition, and your ability to reach your full potential.

Receiving the right support is what makes all the difference when it comes to healing your emotional eating for good.

Ultimately, support = strength

If you allow the energy of shame to take over, it’ll trap you in the emotional eating cycle. You’ll continue sabotaging yourself because you can’t see your own blind spots

Take the first step to transforming your shame by clicking here right now and applying for an Escape From Emotional Eating Discovery Session.

This is a powerful process where we’ll connect one-on-one.  I’ll listen deeply and intuitively to how your emotional eating is holding you back. Together, we’ll explore which of the Escape From Emotional Eating Programs is the right level of support for you.

Food Freedom

Food Freedom Jessica Procini | Escape From Emotional Eating

My struggle with food was constant. Every day I was thinking about food and trying to control my eating. Fear was running my life. I was exhausted.

I wanted to reclaim my time, energy, and brain-space from this unhealthy cycle with food. I knew repeating the same old pattern of solely focusing on nutrition and exercise wasn’t going to get me anywhere.

This clarity and readiness to make a lasting change took me on a journey of exploring unconventional paths of healing that I’m deeply grateful for to this day.

When my dear friend Maria told me she was creating an online series to support women in discovering how they too can overcome their challenges with food and body to step into the driver’s seat of their lives, and invited me to be a part of it, I immediately said yes!

In this series called Food Freedom, Maria is interviewing 20+ experts (including me!) on topics ranging from how to overcome emotional eating, the dangers of dieting, what intuitive eating is, how to take back our power through simple mindset shifts, and ideas on how to create body confidence now.

Here are just some of the things you’ll learn:

  1. The truth about diets and why they don’t work
  2. How to apply mindful eating and intuitive eating to your life
  3. The triggers that cause emotional eating
  4. Simple somatic practices to overcome binge eating
  5. Tips to boost your confidence right away
  6. How to shift your mindset and step into the driver’s seat of your life

I’m excited to share that I have a complimentary ticket for you to attend. Click here to claim your free pass!

You can watch each interview from your home or on the go from your phone.

I HIGHLY recommend this resource if you are experiencing new challenges with food or noticing previous tendencies resurface during the challenging times we find ourselves in.

I’m so glad I get to share Maria’s event with YOU.

In service to your freedom,

how to stay grounded and avoid emotional eating this week

November 3, 2020

I just wanted to check-in as I’ve been thinking of you as we move through this historic week with the election.

I wanted to share a few thoughts with you as to how to stay grounded and avoid any emotional eating this week. I also shared a version of this with my clients.

#1: Manage your energy.

I recommend choosing an energy management tool for the week and engaging with it, proactively 1x per day now – Saturday. For me, I’ve been working with Digesting Emotions®, a tool that I teach in my Escape From Emotional Eating Programs, so I’m processing things, not letting them pile up, and “feeding” my needs by asking, “what do I need?”

I’ve even caught my ego-mind saying, “I need to know the results of the election,” which I had to recognize is not really in my control…so I asked again.

I’ve also switched my movement this week to be all walks outside to the river (no matter how windy and cold) to help me stay grounded.

#2: Step away from your screens.

Put down your phone. Turn off the TV. I really recommend having a “mini-retreat” time, even if it’s 20 min, away from the noise of the world so you can come back to the present moment and home to yourself.

#3: Just because other people are doing it doesn’t mean you have to.

I’ve already started seeing posts about stress eating until the election results. When trying to re-wire emotional eating, seeing someone else do it can be a slippery temptation to give yourself permission to be self-destructive. Watch out for this if you do find yourself magnetized towards food, pause, and get curious.

It’s common to want to try to escape the intensity we are all in, but you are strong, and you are capable of weathering this storm – internally and externally.

Food will not make things better. Not in the short term. Certainly not in the long term.

Stay present in your body.

Surrender when you feel yourself trying to “grip” or control.

Let’s take this week 1-hour at a time.

are you tuning into yourself?

October 26, 2020

I wanted to bring you in on a conversation I was having with my clients this week during our Community Support Call that was all about Honing The Practice Of Tuning Into Yourself.

This skill of tuning into yourself is a skill that is practiced and acquired through all of my Escape From Emotional Eating Programs.

It’s what helps you answer the question: “What am I truly hungry for?”

Yet, I see so many high-achieving women struggle with this practice of tuning into themselves.

They’re pros at it when it comes to what their business or children need.

But when it comes to truly understanding YOUR personal needs – like even when you’re hungry or full – you feel like you’ve completely lost yourself.

So let’s start to turn this around. Watch this short video (less than 4 minutes).

Then reply back to this email and let me know what stops you from tuning into yourself? What gets in the way?

And in my next video, we’ll continue this journey. I’ll share a tip and a trick on how to hone the practice of tuning into yourself, so you can understand what you’re truly hungry for and Escape From Emotional Eating.

🙏 Finding rest in this overwhelming world

October 19, 2020
When I was tired, I would eat.

I would eat to stave off the exhaustion.
I would eat because my head would ache.
I thought it was just that my blood sugar was low. (Boy was I wrong!)

I would eat because rest was a 4-letter word.

Caffeine, carbs, sugar…they were my way to keep on pushing.
There were things to do, emails to check, people to call.

If I rest, these things will never get done.

If I rest, I’ll never get off the couch.

If I rest, I’ll have to feel.

I’ll have to feel the white-hot ache of my body… to feel all the feelings I’ve pushed down…

Nope! Not going to do it. So to the kitchen, the caffeine, the carbs I went.

As I started to heal my emotional eating, I saw how many times I ate because I was tired. Not because I was hungry.

How my headaches had nothing to do with my blood sugar. It was actually my body screaming for me to stop. Clawing at me to rest.

Slow down.

I learned that rest was a way to come home to myself and when I allow it, I am more deeply aligned with myself and all aspects of my life.

Rest is something we have to take. No one will give it to us. Certainly not in this overwhelming world.

And if we don’t take it, our bodies will force it upon us through illness, depression, or injury.

Now, I no longer eat when I’m tired. I no longer allow myself to get to such a dire place of exhaustion. And I haven’t emotionally eaten in almost 5 years now.

But I’ll humbly admit, I’m still on the journey when it comes to my relationship with rest. I am still learning the rhythms of my body, especially as she gets older and especially in these overwhelming times.

So the next time you reach for food, ask yourself: â€śAm I physically hungry? Or am I tried?”

If you’re tired, give yourself permission to rest… to soothe your senses by closing your eyes and come home to yourself.

Eating when your tired will only create separation.
Give yourself what you’re truly hungry for and rest.

Trust that all your emails, ideas, responsibilities will be there when you’re ready to plug back in.

Know that true strength comes from knowing when to rest and giving it to yourself.

we need you.

Jessica Procini | Escape From Emotional Eating

Emotional eating is especially deadening because it doesn’t just numb the pain of your difficult experiences. Emotional eating also numbs your experience of love, joy, creativity, connection, empathy, and intuition.

You cannot selectively numb emotion.

If you numb the dark, you numb the light.

Listen to this short clip (it’s only 1 min and 30 seconds long) from a recent podcast interview I did where I talk more about this and why now, more than ever, we need you. All of you. Especially the part that emotional eating steals.

emotionally eating through the debate

October 5, 2020
Channel Your Outrage into Action - Jessica Procini

I submitted my application to be a poll worker here in Philadelphia on Election Day.

I have no idea if I’ll be selected or if this is even the right choice for my physical health or my highly sensitive nervous system, but it has been something that has been “with me” for weeks now since I saw the original call for workers.

As I saw people’s posts about emotionally eating through the debate and even felt my own triggers to numb the outrage and intensity I felt…I felt like this was deja vu of 2016.

We have the choice to do this election differently.

We have the choice of how we handle this

I know that stuffing it, numbing it, ignoring it – with food, alcohol, or other distractions is not the answer.

Emotional Eating only makes difficult times more difficult.

Emotional Eating only numbs us. Now is a time to feel.

Because feeling —> creates change. It motivates you to action.

So as I was in the shower on Wednesday morning, the message was clear, “Channel your outrage into action. Do not stuff it.”

And as soon as I got out, I completed my application and submitted it.

Here’s to showing up.

Here’s to doing things differently.

Here’s to feeling it all.

With love,

stop leaking your energy

September 28, 2020

I know you have a lot on your plate in life. So when it comes to healing your emotional eating, it can be easy to default to the thinking that this healing journey will be just another thing on your already full plate.

However, here are just a few things you can expect from your Escape From Emotional Eating journey:

  • You will have an abundance of energy because you will spend A LOT less time worrying â€“ especially about food and your body.
  • You will no longer be carrying the burdens of shame, guilt, and self-loathing from emotionally eating. Healing your emotional eating will make everything easier!
  • You’ll learn how to truly nourish, restore, and rejuvenate. Because let’s be honest, emotionally eating doesn’t really take the edge off.
  • You’ll no longer be leaking your energy feeling stressed out, anxious, or worried. These low-level energies will be managed, leaving you feeling present, focused, clear, and grounded.
  • You will THRIVE. No more self-sacrifice, self-destruction, or self-sabotage while creating your next level of success

Healing your relationship with food isn’t about adding more to your already full plate.

Instead, our journey together is about shifting how you do things so you can reclaim your energy and let go of what is no longer serving you

All of this will leave you with way more time, energy, and happiness than you started.

Click here to apply now and lets explore which of the Escape From Emotional Eating Programs is a match for you to create your next level of peace, freedom, and success.

In service to your freedom,

have you ever felt this?

September 21, 2020

There was a point in my healing journey with emotional eating that I realized that I was turning to food when I wasn’t physically hungry because I was hungry for something I couldn’t name.

This weird hunger was different…it felt like an emptiness…not in my stomach…but like there was a hole in my heart

This “emptiness” was confusing because I had a good life. â€śI should be happy,” I told myself.

So I tried to fill this hole with food.

But I realized that trying to fill this hole with my homemade gluten-free, vegan chocolate chip cookies was like giving a glass of sand to someone dying of thirst.

It’s suffocating.

It only creates more thirst, more panic.

It creates a secondary problem to distract from the first problem…because the first problem (the weird empty feeling when I should be happy) was just too weird. Too uncomfortable.

It’s been almost 5 years since I’ve emotionally eaten, and I often think back to those times when I felt the inexplicable hunger…that weird empty feeling.

I think how I wish I knew how to work with that feeling back then like I do now.

If I just had the tools to get to the root of it and work through it, I wouldn’t have had to suffocate it with food.

If someone had just taught me that there is this thing called emotional hunger, that the “emptiness” was my emotional hunger speaking to me.

If I had been taught how to nourish myself emotionally, I would have been saved from years of suffering in the emotional eating cycle

This is why I created Escape From Emotional Eating.

If you’ve ever felt that weird emptiness… that inexplicable hunger that food will never fill… my high recommendation is to click here right now and apply for an Escape From Emotional Eating Discovery Session so we can connect and get to the root of your emotional eating

There is no need to spend another day suffering.
