No! No! What’s really stopping you?

August 2, 2016

I have a very important question to ask you:  Why haven’t you been able to overcome your overeating yet?

Take a moment and really think about that…what’s stopping you?

Do you say to yourself, "With the stress of everything (work, kids, LIFE…) I’ve just gotten lazy."

Ah!

My sense is if you’re super busy like me, that the problem isn’t that you’re lazy

Pulling from my own journey of healing my overeating and more that 5 years of helping hundreds of women do the same, here’s what I see…

   1. You’re not lazy. You’re tired.

Take my client Cyndi, for example… Single mom. 3 teenage kids. Before we started working together, she would reach for carbs and sugar to help her just get thru her day. It wasn’t that she was lazy. NO WAY. She was tired!

   2. Life isn’t as simple as it used to be.

Ferris Bueller said it best, "Life moves pretty fast". The faster and wiser you get, the more stress and anxiety can feel insurmountable.

And to be honest, the ways and tools you currently have to deal with stress and anxiety take way too much time and energy. So instead, you eat.

So what’s an intelligent and powerful woman like yourself to do who wants her life, her health and her happiness to get better and better?

   3. It’s time to do things differently.

Taking a few deep breaths and drinking a glass of water when you crave cookies is NOT the way you overcome stress eating.

The root of the problem isn’t that you crave cookies. The problem is that your stress and anxiety is so overwhelming in an already overwhelming world that you just want to escape!

Why does it feel like I’m reading your mind right now?

Because this was my life! Constantly running around like an overly caffeinated chicken with my head cut off…operating from "I’m so busy" and "I don’t have time".

That’s when I realized life isn’t going to get easier. I have to get better at managing it.

Which is at the core of everything I teach, and has led me to develop the powerful process that I now teach my clients called Digesting Emotions™.

My clients tell me all the time how this simple, yet profound process allows them to have a quicker rebound rate from stress and anxiety. And how they can keep food in the house without overdoing it!

And I’d love to share this process with you too!

If your stress and anxiety is suffocating you in this overwhelming world…and even the possibility of looking at it makes you want to eat cookies, chips or chocolate…My high recommendation is to fill out this application right now.

I want to connect with you.

You don’t have to do this alone.

This complimentary, powerful private call together has 3 primary intentions:

  1. To listen deeply and intimately to your challenges with food, stress and anxiety
  2. Bring clarity to and identify what’s standing in your way
  3. Connect the dots and identify your best next steps together

Plus, throughout this process we’ll also discover if the deep transformational work that I do is the right next step for you.

I’m not attached to the outcome of our discovery process whatsoever.

But I do want you to know there is just 1 spot left in my private practice.

Don’t wait! Submit your application right now and let’s explore if this spot is meant for you.

All will be well as we look at this together.

Loving you (I know you can overcome this!),

PS. I know where you are… completely overwhelmed, stressed, tired. I’ve been there. And I want you to know doesn’t have to be this way.  Take my hand and fill out this application right now. I can help you.

Yikes! Is exercise causing you to overeat?

July 19, 2016

Have you ever heard of Soul Cycle?

A lot of celebrities swear by it and they just opened one of their spinning studios not to far from my house.

I thought this was a dream come true.

Until I went to class…

Read the full story, and the valuable lesson I learned, here

By the way, be sure to read all the way to the end where I share how certain kinds of exercise can actually exacerbate overeating!

Crazy, right?

Loving you,

Happy Anniversary!

July 5, 2016

There is no easy or eloquent way to say this…

I was in an abusive relationship.

It was 8 years ago, when it finally turned physical.

Traumatized.
Devastated.
Confused.

I had no idea how to even begin processing what happened or how I was feeling.

So I ate.

I ate to think.
I ate to comfort myself.
I ate to escape.

Food was always there for me.

And in just under a year, I had gained over 30 pounds.

So I did what anyone would do when they gain weight…I tried to eat healthy and exercise.

Despite my best efforts, this caused me to gain even more weight.

The shame of my physical weight combined with the unprocessed shame of my past… it all made me want to crawl out of my skin.

Now, as I come upon the 8th anniversary of one of the most painful points in my life, I actually have a peaceful sense of gratitude about it.

The gift of this was the process I created to heal myself and end my emotional eating, which I now teach my clients. It’s called Digesting Emotions™.

What I, like so many of my clients, needed was a way to process AND RELEASE these thoughts, feelings and emotions.

So food could return to being nourishing fuel and I could be f.r.e.e.

From putting the powerful process of Digesting Emotions™ in place in my own life, I’ve lost all the weight I gained from my emotional eating and then some.

And the best part is, whenever life hands me a sh*t sandwich, I’m able to bounce back in a matter of seconds… Rather than spiraling for days, weeks or months stuck in psychological sewage.

I share this with you, because it’s not enough to just feel your feelings. There needs to be a way to release them.

So if you use food to fill a hole in your heart from a painful past experience…like a difficult divorce, a loss of a loved one or you too were a victim of domestic violence like me…I have a powerful resource, a tool, that I’d like to share with you.

Click here to take the first step to starting the process of digesting your emotions.

This 20-minute training is a part of the transformational Drop 10 Pounds Toolbox, a set of trainings that are currently only available to my current private clients.

But today this is my gift to you!

In the past, you may have ignored or pushed away the painful thoughts, feelings and memories. But this only creates emotional constipation. And then this stuck energy gets embedded into your flesh.

There is a better way. A healthier way.

Let’s start with this first baby step and then we’ll go from there.

Loving you thru thick and thin,

PS. Just remember, it’s not about the food. It’s about healing what’s on the inside that will really set you free.

It's not about the food

June 21, 2016

Do you forbid yourself from keeping certain foods in your house because you know you’ll over do it?

For me, it was granola.

Even though it was the "healthy" kind made with coconut oil and a low glycemic sweetener, I could EASILY polish off a bag in just a matter of minutes.

I’d always start with good intentions…one bowl…a little almond milk…

But my mind would quickly jump in saying, "mmmm yummy! this is sooo good! I want more. More! More!"

10 minutes and another 3 giant bowls of granola later, I’d negotiate with myself, "oh there’s just a little bit left in the bag…"

It’s slightly embarrassing to say this, but then I’d shovel the rest in my mouth with my hands. Often pouring the remnants directly into my mouth, all while standing alone in my kitchen.

Frustrated that I couldn’t stick to portions or have any self-control when it came to granola, I stopped buying it altogether. I didn’t know there was any other way.

For years, granola was never allowed back into my pantry.

It wasn’t until just last week, when I finally came face to face with this very same granola again, that all of this came flooding back to me.

And what I experienced was so drastically different…a true testament to how far I’ve come in healing my relationship with food and overcoming overeating.

First, I was able to be fully present with my food. I wasn’t standing up, walking around as I ate. Instead I sat in a big comfy chair in my hotel room and gazed out the window from time to time in between bites.

There weren’t any crazy racing thoughts, no demons inside my head, pushing me or negotiating with me to eat more. This time, there was simply brain S P A C E.

Most of all, I had just one bowl. No measuring. Not hemming and hawing. No uncontrollable compulsion to have another. It just was what it was.

That same bag that I could have easily finished in a matter of minutes, last week lasted me over 10 days!

Afterwards I was like…"Wow! This was so different."

Then I thought of you.

Because when it comes to overcoming overeating, it’s not about the food.

The granola didn’t change. It was ME who changed.

It wasn’t that I had the perfect healthy food swap or that I learned how to finally succumb to portion control.

It’s that I’ve done the deeper work. It’s that I’ve filled the hole that would ache and I would so desperately try to fill with food.

The bottom line is the problem with overeating is on the inside.

And by focusing and obsessing about food… it only perpetuates the problem.

I know how committed you are to overcoming overeating and finally taking your power back from food.

That’s why I feel called to share a special resource, a tool, that will support you in starting to turn this fight with food more into the joy of eating.

This 20-minute training is a part of the transformational Drop 10 Pounds Toolbox, a set of trainings that are currently only available to my current private clients.

But today this is my gift to you! Because it was a first step for me, a true catalyst in healing my relationship with food.

Practice what you receive.

And let me know how it goes!

Just remember, it’s not about the food. It’s about healing what’s on the inside that will really set you free.

Loving you always,

PS. I’ll be eager to hear how this goes for you! So don’t mind me if I personally check in with you in the future. That’s just who I am and how I roll. 🙂 XOXO.

Behind the scenes of my new photos

June 7, 2016

Have you ever seen a photo of yourself and cringed?

I can totally relate.

A few weeks ago I had some new photos taken.

I remember very vividly my painful experience of looking at photos of myself in the past.

I’d feel completely deflated.

The army of voices in my head berated me…"your face is fat", "you’ve gained weight", "you’re not good enough" are just a few of the awful things my mind shouted at me.

On the inside, these mean inner voices knocked me down.

And on the outside, food was also my weapon against myself.

Eating foods that I knew would hurt my stomach or leave me bloated, lethargic and foggy.

Both made me want to crawl out of my skin. And secretly wish I could live someone else’s life instead.

But last week, when I received my new photos from my photographer, I had a drastically different experience as I clicked thru over 333 pictures of myself…

First, there was no army of voices in my head. It was just peace.

Which makes sense because I’ve done a lot of work to ship off those voices of self-hate on a one-way ticket to Bora Bora.

It was really great to see they’re still on vacation.

Also, there was no anger stewing inside of me saying, "I should have worked out more" or "I wish I was better than this".

There were simply 2 things happening inside of me: S P A C E and self-love.

As I clicked thru each picture I noticed I added comments to the photographer like "Love", "LOVE" and "LOVE!!!!!! YES".

I was finally seeing myself with loving eyes (something that once felt like woo-woo bullshit).

I was acknowledging my beauty and feeling grateful for my body, the strong vessel and container for my life.

My intention in sharing this with you is not to brag. But to show you that those angry, mean girl voices in your head can actually STOP.

I now see that I put the cookie down, ended my fight with food and overcame my emotional eating, I also completely ended the fight against myself.

Which is why I’m on a mission to support women to stop abusing themselves, with food, their thoughts and their feelings.

So, if you currently cringe when you see a photo of yourself and have an army of voices in your head that leave you bruised, battered and crawling to the cookies for comfort, fill out this application right now.

We have some important work to do.

Loving you (even if you don’t love yourself YET 🙂 .

PS. If you’re thinking, “it’s easy for her to love herself because she’s lucky. She’s already beautiful and thin.”…well, this is the inner mean girl voice of self-hate and self-sabotage in action.

I was born beautiful and so were you. We both grew up and currently live in a culture that teaches us that we’re not good enough, not thin enough, not beautiful enough…

A few years ago I made a decision "enough with the not enough" and to do the real work to love myself no matter what the world around me says or looks like.

So I stand here as proof that no matter how much you hate yourself or feel numb to yourself right now, you can experience something different. You can return to love.

PPS. Really excited to share more of these photos with you. I finally feel like they are really ME.

I missed you!

May 24, 2016

I missed you!  Since you weren’t able to join us at last weeks Escape :-(, I wanted to send you some juice and inspiration with a behind the scenes look of this powerful transformational retreat.

My intention is that when you see these photos you know that you are not the only one who silently struggles with emotional eating, that getting support is available and taking your power back from food could actually be…well, FUN!

When I was planning this years Escape, I wanted it to really model what a day in my life (where I’m free from emotional eating) is like.

So I chose a location that I Escape to when I really need to getaway, Congress Hall in Cape May, NJ!

This was the view from my room upon my arrival. There was a double rainbow in the sky. A great sign!

Walks along the beach are my favorite way to move my body, clear my head and re-charge my batteries. We did a lot of this last week!

Day 1 explaining how we’re going to get to the roots of emotional eating. We all thought it was hilarious that we were in a PINK room!

Here I’m explaining that the way to overcome emotional eating is not at the surface in what you eat and how you exercise. Instead it’s all about the thoughts you think and the feelings that you feel and learning how to release them in a healthy way.

Each day I walked everyone thru a meal experience step-by-step. Many said that our meals together taught them how to know when they are full AND trust it. Overeating will be very hard to do since this experience is in their bodies!

Plus, we ended our days with a restorative movement class to help support transformation and re-connect with themselves…

And treatments at the Sea Spa!

Everyone kept telling me how wonderful it was to have this community of women and how comforting it was to know they aren’t alone in their struggle with overeating.

If this experience resonates with you, and you’d like to explore if the next LYS Escape is the right next step for you to end your emotional eating, then fill out this application right now

Once you submit your application, I’ll personally review it entirely and a member of my team will set up a time for us to connect where we can explore if the Escape or one of the other LYS Programs is the right next step for you.

Right now my schedule is very full but I’ve been able to open 2 spots on my calendar for this so submit your application right now!

I truly believe you, CAN overcome your emotional eating. But you have to approach it differently than you ever have before.

Take my hand, submit your application! and let me show you step-by-step how you can take your power back from food and finally overcome your emotional eating.

Loving you,

The boldest thing i've ever said

April 19, 2016

I have something very bold to share with you and you might not like me very much after I say it.

But that's ok because what's most important is ending your fight with food.

I know, from my own personal journey of ending my suffering with emotional eating and working with hundreds of clients on the same, what I'm about to share with you will save you a tremendous amount of energy, time and resources.

So here's a moment of truth…

1. Weight Watchers won’t put a complete end to your fight with food.

Weight Watchers and other diets, meal plans and calorie counters only perpetuate your problem with food.

These methods are surface-only approaches. They only focus on food and exercise and don't give attention to what's going on INSIDE.

2. Surface-Only Approaches do NOT address the emotional and psychological factors that are at the root of your fight with food.

Which is everything my work is built on; getting to the root of emotional eating and eradicating it forever.

3. If these vital factors are not addressed, it will be impossible to end your fight with food for good.

Surface-Only Approaches, like WW, might work for a few weeks or help you lose the first 10 or 20 pounds.

But when it comes to stopping your constant thoughts about food and being able to keep food in the house without over doing it, they will NOT be your savior.

4. What is needed to end your fight with food is a deeper approach.

Which is exactly why I cannot keep quite about this any longer and why I've put all this and more together in an in-depth, life-shifting, FREE training just for you.

It's happening next week and I invite you to join me. Virtual seats for this are going fast and are limited, so sign up by clicking here right now: endyourfightwithfood.com

During this powerful time together, I'll be sharing step-by-step what you must do to End Your Fight With Food.

5. Join me next week by clicking here right now and I'll tell you everything you need to know to stop feeling tortured by food.

Please bring pen and paper. You'll want to take tons of notes.

Loving you (all the way, everyday),

PS. It's time, now more than ever, to end your fight with food because I know how badly you want to give more, have more and be more in this lifetime (whether that's working with more clients or being a better example for your kids).

P.P.S. So let's take all that energy that's being sucked up by your fight with food and let's channel it to your true fulfillment. Here's how we'll do this together -> Click here to register for this FREE call right away.

March 29, 2016

"Why are YOU trying to lose weight?"

People used to say this to me all the time whenever they saw me eating a salad at work, drinking a green smoothie or calculating how many calories I burned after a workout.

This question made me so self-conscious I felt as if I would liquefy on the spot.

Because behind my obsession with staying healthy I had the shameful secret that at night when I was home alone and no one was watching, I would eat anything and everything.

Bags of popcorn, chips, cookies, chocolate, ice cream…you name it.

I had tried various diets, counting calories and even succumbed to starving myself during the day in an effort to "control" my binges at night.

When those things didn’t work, I threw myself into basically every type of workout imaginable – running, kickboxing, bootcamp, yoga, pilates, barre classes…even a combination of all of them!

But none of them ever touched, or cured, the overwhelming pull at the end of the day to eat an entire carton of ice cream.

It was like an alien had taken over my body!

Feeling like a failure and ready to settle into "this is just the way it’s going to be for the rest of my life", I mustered up what little bit of courage I had left to speak to someone about my most shameful secret.

And that 1 conversation changed my life.

Surprisingly, my overeating had nothing to do with aliens or food. But had everything to do with how I was feeling and the thoughts I would think about myself.

From there I was able to put the cookies down. Soon after that, I didn’t even have cravings for them anymore!

And eventually, I woke up one morning and didn’t even think about food.

Which brings us to today, where I can stand here before you and say I have ended my fight with food.

All this had led me to my work, which helps other women, just like you, end their fight with food too.

I want you to know that when it comes to emotional eating and using food as a way to numb, distract or procrastinate… diets and exercise don’t work.

We have to approach this differently.

Just like in my story, how 1 conversation changed everything for me, I want to pass that same opportunity along to you.

So if you have flirted with every diet and exercise regime out there in an effort to cure your crazy food cravings… yet STILL easily plow thru an entire bag of popcorn, chips or candy at the end of the day, then I invite you to fill out this application

This is an opportunity to take the first step in ending your fight with food with a complimentary discovery session with me

During this powerful private time together, I’ll listen intimately to your struggles with food and we’ll get clear on your next healing steps together.

We’ll also have the opportunity to explore if the deep healing work that I do is the best next step for you.

Fill out this application now because spots for these complimentary sessions are extremely limited.

As always, I’m so grateful for our connection, and to be in service and support of ending your fight with food.

Loving you,
